Barrel

Silky Sunday's. by Nathaniel Harrington

Its time to start blogging again. Social Medai doesn't suggest that I upload this many photos into it in one day, therefore I should get this platform going again so that you can at least see the photos if you want. The hard drives are full, and no one has seen whats inside.. :(

This post is from a couple sunday's ago. It was small and super inconsistent, but when the right waves came through it was so fun! The boys got a few barrels and some good times out of it, that's what matters.

Enjoy the pics.

Brock Taylor came out to Spanish house and got shacked!

Fun sequence from one of Brock's better waves.

of course Chauncey Robinson made it out. He too picked out some fun waves.

Brock, styling guy.

The storm made the lighting on this shot mental! I love this mood setting.

Chauncey on a 16 frame drainer. That doesn't happen in FL often.

View from the beach. It was as fun as it looks.

Stoked to be able to share my photos, and even more stoked that you visited my site.

Thank you all for the support!

Gifts with T's. by Nathaniel Harrington

Hey Guys!

So as I was packing this T for Stephen when I figured that I would give him something extra to say thank you for the support and for being stoked to wear a T with my work on it! Makes sense to me.

So, to the first 100 online orders I will be giving out a special piece, handmade, of some sorts. I'm not saying that it will be a matted 5x7 of the image on the shirt, it could turn out to be something totally different and that's where the fun is. I've got some pretty sweet ideas that I can do very affordably, so order a T and see what you get!

You can find these Men's T's along with Women's Tanks in the "Shop" tab on this site. Or click "here".

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

The last month or so... by Nathaniel Harrington

Hey Guys!

Better to post about it later than never I guess... Here's a few shots that I have acquired from the past few weeks or so. Not sure which ones have been posted on Social Media, but its always more fun to see them on a larger screen anyways, right?! I've been meaning to post about this last month and all its swell stories but one thing has just led to another. So I finally gathered together a couple of my favorite shots and am about to tell you about them. So check it out!

This is from one beautiful morning here in Vero Beach. There's nothing better than the anticipation of waling up pre-sunrise and praying that you're not getting out of bed for nothing. That first sight at the beach is either a great relief and a ton of excitement, or the just worst thing ever. This was the best thing ever.

After getting into the water, same day as above photo, this is the reward. Perfection.

One more from the above day. Sometimes these insiders get that foam on the face of the wave and I really like it. I'd give it a thumbs up if I could. Anyways, love the pier angle on this shot too! That was a great morning.

This is Blake Speir. If you go up to Sebastian Inlet you can watch him rip waves with a ton of other Groms. They all kill it, blake especially. Behind the wave shots are tricky to get them to look right, I think this one turned out very well and I love that the guy in the background on the pier is in the middle of catching a 6ft Bull Shark... We watched as he pulled it in onto the sand and just about every surfer in the line-up began to yell, "Let It Go!!". That was rad.

And this is where Blake gets it from, his dad David Speir. You can find this shot featured on ESM's Hurricane Gonzalo update found at this URL: http://www.easternsurf.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=1699:gonzalo-the-giver&…

Check it out and thanks ESM for all the support lately!

This is from one of those days that I wish would never end. It was a Sunday morning and I had just enough time to go shoot before I went to Church. I've seen glassy conditions like this only a couple of times on the ocean. The next few images will show you what I mean.

Glass. i've done no editing to this photo, didn't need it.

Perfect view of the Pier.

This is the glass I'm talking about. Reflective perfection.

gosh, take me back to this morning!

I have so many images from this session that it was difficult to pick out which ones I should add to this blog post. I decided on these few somehow.. not sure how. It seemed like every wave that passed by me was perfect and the shots are each different and unique in their own way. I guess these few just got my attention long enough to get them here. And thankfully its not a 240+ image blog post, cause it easily could have been.

This will be my last image for this post. I shot this image during Hurricane Edouard and I don't think I posted much about it on the blog yet.. sorry. Again this was just perfection in surf. I got a couple great barrel shots of Dieter Humpsch this evening also. It was all just lost in the scramble to upload the photos to the computer as fast as I can so that I have card space to get back into the water and keep shooting.

Its safe to say that my instagram gets the better half of my attention when it comes to updated postings. So if you don't follow me there, you should! @natehphoto

Thanks for checking out this evenings image uploads and please feel free to share my site and blog with friends. :)

Summer Swell with Hurricane Cristobal by Nathaniel Harrington

Hey! It's been a while since my last post. I'm dealing with Domain name issues... switching up URL's is a pain in the butt. :(

Anyways, Here's a shot that Bake Burns and I scored from this last swell given to us by Hurricane Cristobal. I'll try to keep up dating as the content comes in.

Till then...

From Dusk till Dawn. by Nathaniel Harrington

Hi Guys!

Hope you all had a great weekend! I know I sure did. Sunday turned into an all day outing at the beach where I was very surprised to find some surf coming in. When I say surf what I really mean in tiny shorebreak barrels that I get super amped on! There was a little more size today than I have seen in a while which really helped the images this weekend.

I started my day at 6am sharp to get a few pre-dawn motion shots in at the Pier. I've seen a lot of people do some cool images with blur and I am giving it a shot myself. That and there's no other place I'd rather watch the day start from than in the water. :) Also, Jonny Capen joined me with his gopro and skim board for the morning photo sesh. I watched him tuck into a few barrels with the lens pointed down the line, so hoping he got some great video/photo from the morning. I shot a few images of him enjoying the surf as well.

Here's some shots...

Motion in the Morning. Pretty neat with the pier in the background.

Believe it or not I really did a lazy job of going through these pics. I'm pretty tired so I passed up tons of awesome barrel shot, all of which will probably get burried into my hard drive never to be seen again. haha. Happens all to often.

Still, I'm amped on the selection I was able to grab!

Jonny's skimshots were fun to take. I haven't shot action in a long time!

The contrast from morning to afternoon is pretty radical. Once the winds come up the East Coast shuts down. But, I managed to find a few spots where the storms were able to bring some shape back to the surf. I love shooting storms and less than perfect conditions more than I like to shoot perfect conditions. There's so much more of a challenge to it! Anyways, I was happy to find a few more nuggets in the day, and I am stoked to share them with you here.

Metallic colors in the stormy afternoon are my absolute favorite. What do you think?

I'd love to hear some oppinions on what images you guys like more! The perfect shaped of a morning sunrise, or the the tossing afternoon storm surges? Keep in mind that Morning was shot with a 10mm lens while afternoon was with a 50mm. Which gets your vote?

Thanks for checking in!
