Sorry, it's been a while. by Nathaniel Harrington

It feels good when the content works.

Let’s blast into this like I haven’t skipped out on four years of blogging.

Recently I did a shoot with Captain Sam Atwell for Columbia PFG. The goal: catch a tarpon on fly in the Indian River Lagoon. Sam had a plan, and it was a good one. This was our first shoot together for Columbia as Sam was just recently added to their Ambassador program. So congrats to Sam on that! I hope we get to do many more of these.

Check out the Short Reel:

And then we had a concept for getting a snook using live bait. For this part of the shoot we really wanted to focus on the shoes and benefits of wearing a good watershed while fishing in shallow mangroves.

Check that out here:

Huge thanks to our buddy Kent Krebeck who turned his boat into the camera boat for the morning. He also nailed the land angle shots of Sam setting the hook and the epic jump. I was on drone duty, he absolutely nailed the long lens. Thank you, Kent!

Sam and Jess shared the insights from Instagram and I gotta say it feels good when the content comes together. I’ve linked both these images to the Instagram Page. Please do visit and watch them there.

The next Columbia PFG shoot will be published on this blog soon. It’s already been filmed, and let me say it’s pretty freaking cool. Hint: It has some unique interactions with sailfish.

Stay tuned, I might actually start using this again.

Tarpon Strings on the Treasure Coast by Nathaniel Harrington

Went off the beach yesterday with Capt Chris Yergans and met up with Scott Crippen.

We didn’t get bites from the fish we wanted but is sure was cool to see the tarpon daisy chaining on the treasure coast like this.

Gotta look close but that is a pack of Tarpon headed straight at us.

Some big ones in the back!

Ya know, sometimes they just do not bite. These fish had their sensors on and would dive deep before getting up to the boat. They had very little interest in eating a fly, so they swam on.

Mondays by Nathaniel Harrington

Started today off with a look at the Ocean. Put the drone up and right away spotted two Eagle Rays. Flew down to take a closer look and watched them cross paths with a daisy chain of Tarpon. Right away was able to spot a giant logger head sea turtle. Another epic start to the week!

Now time to edit…

Tail winds of Hurricane Isaias by Nathaniel Harrington

Here’s a quick edit I made with the footage we gathered on this quick South Florida road trip. Daniel Glenn and Jack Hendrix wanted to chase the storm up the coast pretty much staying as close behind the storm as possible in an attempt to get the largest surf possible. It worked out really well. Check out the edit below.

An empty rolls through, it was looking gorgeous.

Simple good fun.

I like making films with zero expectations :) Hope to be able to do this again soon.

CNY's photographs of hooked Tarpon. by Nathaniel Harrington

I got my hands on some of Captain Chris Yergans memory cards and wow was I ever impressed with what I found in them. He has taken some of the most incredible Tarpon jumping photos I have ever seen.

Here’s a couple I edited.

This one is epic. Big Leap!

Its apparent how much time chris has put into chasing these fish. Not only is he great at guiding people into the fish but he is very good at photographing them as well.

Well done CNY. Well done.
